Some questions come down to one number.

What actually lands in your account. What you can borrow. What your GPA is before finals. What time it is there. Type your figures and watch the answer resolve — free, instant, and with the arithmetic shown.

How it works

Five kinds of question. One method.

Every tool here takes the figures you already know, applies the published formula, and shows you each step it took. Keep scrolling — the readout works through a real example of each.

“How much of this is actually mine?”

Your offer letter states a gross figure. Your bank sees a different one. The paycheck tool fills each tax bracket in front of you, adds Social Security and Medicare, and tells you what is left — so a raise never again arrives as a surprise.

02 / 05

“Is this number good or bad?”

A figure on its own means nothing. Every health result here arrives with the range it sits in and what the range is actually measuring — including where the measure is known to be a poor fit.

03 / 05

“What can I actually afford?”

Not the maximum a lender will approve — the figure that leaves your month intact. The affordability tool works backwards from your income to a price, and shows the monthly payment hiding behind it.

04 / 05

“Where do I stand right now?”

Credits weight some courses more heavily than others, which is why the average of your grades is rarely your GPA. Enter both and see the real figure — before the semester is decided rather than after.

05 / 05

“What time is it for them?”

Daylight saving moves on different dates in different countries, which is how a standing meeting quietly drifts an hour. The converter handles the offset for you across twenty world cities.

Numbers worth knowing

Four things most calculators never tell you.

22%

A higher tax bracket does not tax all your income.

Under a progressive system only the income above each threshold is taxed at the higher rate. A raise that moves you into the next bracket cannot reduce your total take-home pay.

1832

BMI was invented by a mathematician, not a doctor.

Belgian statistician Adolphe Quetelet devised the ratio in the 1830s to describe the average build of a population. It was never designed to assess an individual, which is why it ignores muscle mass and build.

+30m

Not every time zone is a whole hour apart.

India, Iran, and parts of Australia sit on half-hour offsets, and Nepal is 45 minutes off. Rounding to the nearest hour is how a call gets booked at precisely the wrong time.

÷72

You can estimate compounding in your head.

Divide 72 by an annual growth rate to approximate the years an amount takes to double. At 6% that is roughly 12 years; at 9%, about 8. An approximation, but a remarkably good one at ordinary rates.
